How to apply

Membership to UKARA is subject to a thorough application process. If you want to apply, you can do everything online via the website.


Any British citizen or individual holding permanent-settled status in the UK and resident in Great Britain or legal entity incorporated in Great Britain can apply for UKARA membership.

UKARA formulates requirements whereby persons can be qualified and credentialled as a formal organisational resource to industry, covering all sectoral requirements under laws in Great Britain. 

Only qualified individuals may serve as Authorised Representatives / Responsible Persons. UKARA membership signifies that an individual / organisation possesses these credentials and can demonstrate proficiencies to fulfil duties required.

Application criteria assessment – minimum requirements

Apply as an individual


  • Proof of identity (passport or driving licence)
  • Proof of address (copy of HMRC letter confirming name, address and Unique Taxpayer Reference (UTR) or copy of a utility bill less than three months' old or copy of VAT certificate (if sole trader))
  • Quality Management System certificate (if applicable)
  • System procedures/work instructions
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Relevant degree or qualification certificate
  • A signed letter of appointment as a UKAR/RP from your employer on letterhead paper (if you are a full-time or part-time employee of a company and serving as UKAR/RP)
Apply as an individual

Apply as a corporate entity


  • Proof of identity (passport or driving licence)
  • Proof of address (Certificate of Incorporation and Memorandum of Association, copy of a utility bill less than three months' old or copy of your company business rates bill)
  • Quality Management System certificate (if applicable)
  • System procedures/work instructions
  • Curriculum vitae
  • Relevant degree or qualification certificate
  • Contract between principal and UKAR/RP professional representative
  •  A signed letter of appointment as UKAR/RP from your employer on letterhead paper (if you are a full-time or part-time employee of a company and serving as UKAR/RP)
